Why Desoto County schools won’t be closed until next year

Miami-Dade County Schools won’t open their doors until next spring, despite the state and local governments having already said they’ll be closing them until the end of the year.

Schools in Desoto, Florida, will remain closed until the year 2020.

On Thursday, Gov.

Rick Scott said that Florida’s schools were not ready to open in 2018.

“I don’t want to do this in 2018,” he said at a press conference.

“We’ve been trying to do that for months and months and I’m going to do it for now.”

The state’s governor is using the state’s emergency management law to keep the school closures from happening, which could potentially delay students and families from returning to school.

In January, a federal judge in Florida ordered schools closed until mid-April 2018.

The state says it’s still considering a petition from the American Federation of Teachers that says the school closings are unconstitutional and should be lifted.
