A state school teachers is set to lose her job after a student died after a freak crash, it has been reported.
The accident took place in the north of Kerala in 2017, when the teacher, known only as Mimi, was on a bus transporting students to their primary school.
She died on the way to the hospital, while the other students in the bus were also injured.
Mimi, who has been working at the primary school for the last five years, was suspended by the school board.
Her resignation letter to the school’s principal said the accident was her fault, adding that she has “never been averse to working in difficult circumstances”.
It was then that the state school board, led by the ruling AIADMK-led government, announced that Mimi would be replaced.
Mavis, who had been with the school for five years before being appointed teacher, had already been the victim of numerous incidents.
She was injured on one occasion when she was driving her car while riding a bicycle on a motorbike path.
